She has experienced a fourth round of chemotherapy. Currently, she is using medicines partially covered by health insurance. However, doctors said that if her condition does not improve, she will have to use other medicines which are very expensive and are not paid for by health insurance. Each course of chemotherapy would cost her VND20 million (USD816.32).

Since she was ill, her husband has had to shoulder raising the family. He works for construction sites with a modest income.

Meanwhile, the couple has four children.

The house they are living in was borrowed from a relative 12 years ago.

Nguyen Dinh Tam, head of Bac An Dong residential area, said Sang’s family face real difficulties. Local authorities called on local support to help build a new house, but the assistance has been limited.
