The Na Phung Kindergarten and Na Phung Primary School projects, which were built by the newspaper with donations from the Minh Tri Thanh Company, were inaugurated in Bao Yen District on August 16.

The inauguration ceremony saw the attendance of Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Council Ly Binh Minh, Chairman of Bao Yen District People's Committee Nguyen Anh Chuyen, and other officials, teachers, parents, and students of the two schools.

The old Na Phung Kindergarten lies on a high mountain some 300 kilometres from Hanoi. The boarding school had only one classroom for nearly 40 students aged between 2-5 who share the same class. The classroom, together with the kitchen, and bathroom had all badly deteriorated.

Next to the Na Phung Kindergarten is the Na Phung Primary School which also shared the same situation and needed urgent restoration and upgrading.

Following some visits last year, Dantri Newspaper called for support from donors to build a new Na Phung Kindergarten and upgrade Na Phung Primary School. The construction and upgrading of Na Phung Kindergarten and Na Phung Primary School was started on March 18 this year with a total investment of VND 500 million donated by the Minh Tri Thanh Company through the Dantri Charity Programme.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dantri/Dtinews' Editor-in-Chief, Pham Tuan Anh, expressed happiness after the two projects had been completed within just five months, giving local children a new better place to study. He also sent his sincere thanks to local authorities and the Minh Tri Thanh Company for having worked with the newspaper to carry out the project.
