Over the past 24 hours, rain had spread in many southern localities with the highest rainfall of 85.8mm recorded in Kien Giang Province.

The rain has been forecasted to occur mainly in the afternoon and evening in the south in some days to come. Lightning and strong gusts of wind would happen during the rain.

In the Central Highlands and southern regions, total rainfall from October to November is expected to be 5-20 percent higher than that of the same period of previous years.

Meanwhile, coastal provinces and cities in the Southeastern region have been warned of high tides risks from October to December, which could lead to inundation in low-lying areas and riverbanks.
