Ninh Binh experiences a 3.4 magnitude earthquake
The northern province of Ninh Binh experienced a 3.4 Richter scale magnitude earthquake this morning, May 27.
The incident occurred around 9.30 am in Nho Quan District at a depth of around 17 kilometres.
According to the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre under the Institute of Geophysics, it was a small earthquake with short aftershocks. It did not pose any significant risk of natural disaster.
However, the centre did forecast that Ninh Binh would see more earthquakes below a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale in the coming time.
The Institute of Geophysics will conduct detailed research on the geological structure and seismic activity in Ninh Binh and its surrounding areas to warn local authorities and residents.
