According to the forest management board in Dong Phu District, on March 19, the elephant appeared near the forest in Tan Loi Commune.

A tree ruined by the elephant
The animal travelled through a residential area which is home to around 61 households in Thach Mang Village, destroying 12 banana trees, one jackfruit tree and three papaw trees.
It also broke into a local house, eating rice and salt.
Local authorities have instructed locals to take measures to ensure safety in case the elephant returns.
Based on the traces, the animal may head to Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve. Many local residents are worried that it could appear again.
The Dong Phu Forest Management Board has arranged a force to deal with the elephant if it comes back.
