Consecutive tremors reported in Quang Ngai and Kon Tum

Several consecutive tremors hit the central province of Quang Ngai and the central highlands province of Kon Tum on Tuesday morning, according to the Institute of Geophysics of Vietnam.

A tremor measured at 2.5 on the Richter Scale at a depth of 10 kilometres occurred at 2.27 am in Quang Ngai Province's Son Ha District.

The neighbouring province of Kon Tum also saw four consecutive earthquakes over the past two days, with the latest measuring at 3.1 on the Richter Scale occurring at 6.25 am today in Kon Plong District. The area also reported three other quakes measuring 2.8 and 2.9 on the Richter Scale yesterday.

Kon Tum has reported nearly 500 tremors since 2021 with the biggest one measuring 4.7 on the Richter Scale.
