Hanoi is accelerating the construction of Ngoc Khanh Lake Pedestrian Street for the inauguration on the 70th anniversary of the capital city's Liberation Day on October 10 this year.

The street surrounding Ngoc Khanh Lake in Ba Dinh District will become the seventh pedestrian street in Hanoi.

Work on the street is being sped up.

The street’s pavement is paved with highly-durable natural stones.

Workers are constructing decorative features on the street.

According to Ngoc Khanh Ward’s authorities, once put into use, the street would help create jobs for 450 people.

The highlight of the street is several details and symbols reminiscent of the Giang Vo Duong, an area for practising martial arts, teaching military techniques and high-level military demonstrations of dynasties in the feudal capital of Thang Long.

The lighting system around Ngoc Khanh Lake features designs inspired by soldiers, showcasing martial arts training with various weapons such as bows, arrows, crossbows, swords and spears.

A bicycle rental service is available on the street.

Ngoc Khanh Lake Pedestrian Street will be open from 7 pm on Fridays to midnight on Sundays every week. After the trial period, a review will be conducted to consider extending the operation to seven days a week.
