
Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort becomes the first Zero Plastic Waste Resort in the nation
At the announcement ceremony of the Zero Plastic Ưaste Resort - Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort held on September 9, Nguyen Thanh Hong, director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, shared that after years of maintaining a sustainable development journey, the resort has made efforts to limit negative impacts with a specific focus on protecting the natural environment and creating sustainable value for the community.
As the first “Plastic-free hotel" model to be applied in the country, Hong added that the resort has contributed to spreading a message of environmental protection and sustainable tourism , as well as building a green brand for the Vietnamese tourism industry.
At the event, Vu The Binh, chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, also stressed that thanks to great efforts of the entire city aimed at developing zero-waste tourism, Hoi An has maintained its position as a leading destination in implementing environmental protection measures in the country.
He added that the association is actively implementing a project called "Reducing Plastic Waste in the Tourism Industry in Vietnam”, and will continue to apply the plastic-free hotel model across the country.
