Heavy rain submerges many streets in central localities

Many streets in the central region of Vietnam have been severely flooded following heavy rain.



On October 21, many streets in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province, such as Hung Vuong, Phan Chau Trinh, and Huynh Thuc Khang, were submerged under 30-50 cm of water.

 

According to the Quang Nam Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, over the past 24 hours, various areas in Quang Nam saw moderate to heavy rain, with the highest rainfall reaching up to 127mm in Tam Ky City.


Quang Nam will continue to face torrential rain until tomorrow, with maximum rainfall expected to reach 250 mm.


Quang Binh Province experienced rainfall ranging from 50 to 170 mm, with Dong Hoi City recording the highest amount at 221 mm.

Meanwhile, the rainfall at Bach Ma National Park in Thua Thien Hue was 290.8 mm.

People in the central region have been warned of whirlwinds, lightning, and strong gusts during rains. Those in mountainous areas may also suffer from flash floods and landslides.
