Authorities opened another public park in early January along the Red River bank in Hanoi's Hoan Kiem District.

Local authorities initiated the transformation of a large dump site into Phuc Tan Park, with residents of Phuc Tan Ward collaborating with donors to create a leisure spot in the area.

The park features numerous playgrounds for children and offers a variety of fitness equipment for public use at no charge.

Adjacent to Phuc Tan Park, the efforts of local authorities and residents also brought Chuong Duong Park to life, developing it on a previously polluted dumping ground.

Located at the end of Ham Tu Quan Street, the 9,000-square-metre Chuong Duong Park, which opened in early 2023, comprises three main sections: a small forested area, a flower garden, and a sports and physical activities area.

Nguyen Thi Dinh, a resident, mentioned that both local authorities and residents contributed the equipment and devices for the park.

Hoang Van Nguyen, aged 65, expressed his happiness over the transformation of the polluted dumping area into a beautiful park. "We feel much healthier now that we can visit the park every day to breathe fresh air or engage in sports," he remarked.

Hoan Kiem District authorities are planning to replicate this model to enhance the living environment and create more green spaces for the community.
