Vietnamese contestants achieved impressive results with one first, 10 third, and seven consolation prizes in the Leanbot category.

Most notably, the championship title went to a student from Le Ngoc Han primary school in Ho Chi Minh City.

This year, the 2024 International Robothon contest drew the participation of 142 teams with hundreds of contestants aged eight to 18, from Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.

In particular, the Leanbot category attracted up to 95 teams compared to other robotic categories.

Robothon is an annual prestigious STEM Robotics competition which has been organised for the past 18 years by Eduspec Holdings Berhad (Malaysia), attracting thousands of students across Asia.

In Vietnam, the contest has been taking place since 2012, becoming an intellectual playground in which students from primary to high schools can develop programming skills, robot control, creative thinking, and the application of AI and Digital Twin technology in the Metaverse.
