Vietnam Cable Television (VTVcab) successfully bought the rights to air the UEFA Champions League football tournament in Vietnam from the TV broadcast rights holder South Korea's KJ Investment Group Inc again after encountering some copyright issues.
The next match on September 28 will be aired for all football fans on local TV cable.
In August last year, VTVcab announced that they bought the exclusive rights to broadcast three seasons of Champions League football from 2015 to 2018 on TV cable. However, their security was so weak that footage of the matches were widely streamed online, forcing the KJ Investment Group Inc. to disconnect the signal to VTVcab on March 10.

Since then, VTVcab had continued negotiating with KJ Investment Group to secure the rights and announced its success on September 23.
Hoang Ngoc Huan, general director of VTVcab said, "I've just signed the contract with KJ Investment Group. I'm glad to say that we can continue the service to Champions League fans."
To tighten security and avoid similar incidents, VTVcab also bought the broadcast rights online as well as on the smartphones.
