Outstanding Vietnamese athletes, including Vu Thi Huong, Truong Thanh Hang, Doan Kien Quoc, Nguyen Manh Tuong and Nguyen Hoai Thu, will be honoured at a ceremony in Hanoi on the evening of March 26.
According to the Sports and Physical Training Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the ceremony will be held in Hanoi to present awards to those athletes who achieved outstanding results at the 3rd Asian Indoor Games (AIG 3) in Vietnam and the 25th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 25) in Laos.
At the AIG 3, the Vietnamese team secured second place with 42 gold medals, greatly surpassing its target of 20 gold medals to rank among the top eight. At the SEA Games 25, Vietnam bagged 83 gold, 73 silver and 57 bronze medals to make its to the top three.
