The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has announced an eight-day programme for the Nguyen Hue flower street to celebrate the Year of the Horse 2026, one of the city’s major cultural and tourism events during Tet.

The 2026 flower street will run along Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, from the Nguyen Hue, Le Loi intersection to the Nguyen Hue, Ton Duc Thang intersection. It will open at 7 pm on February 15, two days before the Lunar New Year, and close at 9 pm on February 22, the sixth day of the new year. Construction will begin at 7 am on January 28 and finish by noon on February 15.

Marking its 23rd edition since 2004, the 2026 street will feature horse-themed mascots in celebration of the Lunar Year of the Horse. Visitors can enjoy thousands of flower baskets in a wide range of varieties, adding vibrant colour to the festive atmosphere.

Alongside themed miniatures, the street will include Tet cultural exhibition areas with participation from diplomatic agencies, international organisations and businesses. Nearly 50 booths will showcase food, handicraft and tourism products.

Hotels in the downtown area, including Oscar, Palace, Kim Do, Caravelle, Sheraton, Grand, Rex and Majestic, will host art programmes and culinary spaces for visitors.

The city will install six to ten LED screens along Nguyen Hue street and nearby areas to display images of previous editions and extend the Tet atmosphere to residents and tourists.
