Hanoi holds a fireworks display at Hoan Kiem Lake to welcome the New Year 2025.
Speaking at a meeting on December 21, Hanoi vice-chairwoman Vu Thu Ha said the city would organise fireworks at five locations with six launch sites to mark the arrival of 2026.
Two launch sites will be set up in Hoan Kiem Ward, including areas in front of the Hanoi Moi newspaper headquarters and the Hanoi Post Office. Other locations include Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung Ward, the F1 race track complex in Tu Liem Ward, Lac Long Quan flower garden in Tay Ho Ward, and Van Quan Lake in Ha Dong Ward.
Alongside the fireworks displays, the city will host the Countdown 2026 programme from 7 pm to midnight on December 31, 2025 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Hanoi will also stage fireworks displays at 31 locations across the city on Lunar New Year’s Eve in 2026.
Cultural and historical sites will remain open throughout the holiday period, while a range of new tourism products will be introduced to help create a festive atmosphere reflecting the capital’s traditional Tet celebrations.
