Politburo member and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai

In her message, Hoai extended warm Christmas greetings and wishes for peace, happiness and love to religious dignitaries, clergy and Christian believers across the country.

Reflecting on the past year, she said Vietnam has continued to move forward amid intertwined opportunities and challenges. Under the Party’s leadership, State management and the unity of the people, the country has maintained political and social stability, promoted economic recovery and development, accelerated digital transformation, ensured social welfare, safeguarded national defence and security, and enhanced its international standing.

She stressed that these achievements are the shared result of the great national unity bloc, to which religious communities, including Catholic and Protestant followers, have made active, persistent and responsible contributions. The Vietnam Fatherland Front highly values the spirit of “respecting God and loving the nation” and “living the Gospel in the heart of the nation” demonstrated by Christian communities.

According to the Fatherland Front leader, many religious dignitaries, clergy and believers have complied strictly with Party guidelines and State laws and policies, mobilising followers to join patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organisations. They have supported poor and vulnerable groups, taken part in environmental protection and climate change response, contributed to new-style rural development and civilised urban construction, and played an active role in education, healthcare, humanitarian and charitable activities, as well as in strengthening national unity.

As Vietnam advances comprehensive renewal, deeper and more proactive international integration, and organisational streamlining to improve efficiency and effectiveness, the Fatherland Front expressed its hope that religious dignitaries, clergy and Christian followers will continue to uphold their traditions, stand alongside the nation and play an active role in reinforcing the great national unity bloc, helping to build a more prosperous, civilised and happy country.

Hoai reaffirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to listen, stand alongside and coordinate closely with religious organisations, respect and safeguard freedom of belief and religion, create favourable conditions for religious activities in accordance with the law, and support religions, including Catholic and Protestant communities, in making ever more positive contributions to the nation and the people.
