The full amount was transferred directly by Dantri to the bank account of Duc’s mother, Duong Thi Toan, 46, to support his ongoing medical care.

The funds were donated by readers and well-wishers after Dantri published Duc’s story. In addition to the amount presented by the newspaper, Toan also received about VND 70 million (about USD 2,600) in direct contributions from other helpers and through personal accounts. In total, the family has received more than VND 600 million (about USD 22,600) to date.
Receiving the generous support, Toan became emotional and expressed her gratitude.
“If it were not for the doctors and the readers of Dantri and all the benefactors who helped us, I don’t think our family could have gone on. This money has not only saved my son but also rescued my family from despair. I am truly grateful to everyone,” she said.
Duc suffered high-voltage electric burns while fishing near his home in Nghe An Province on October 9, 2025.

Because the injuries were so deep and extensive, treatment was extremely challenging. Surgeons were forced to amputate Duc’s entire left arm and remove four fingers and part of his right hand.
In the early days after the accident, Toan’s family was nearly overwhelmed, as the cost of treatment far exceeded their means.

Thanks to the dedication of medical staff and the timely support of Dantri readers and generous donors, Duc has pulled through the most critical stage of his condition.
