After two weeks of treatment, Loi has overcome his critical situation and recovered very quickly.

According to Doctor Nguyen Nhu Lam, he will still have to deal with some after-effects for one or two months and has some limited scarring. Fortunately, his brain wasn’t affected so its development will be normal.

“Now his burn effect level is at only 5%. His skin can be cured by itself. Thanks to the help of many kind people, he was able to recover from this accident,” added Lam.

Loi’s mother said he can now eat rice, drink milk and that his health is in good shape. “I wrote a thank-you letter today to express my gratefulness to the Management Board of the National Burn Hospital and its doctors and nurses who saved my son’s life. In addition, I am very thankful to all of the compassionate donors who shared with me the pain and difficulties which I thought I could never overcome,” Loi’s mother wrote.
