Readers help DTiNews raise over $20,000 for rural bridge

As of December 31, readers of Dantri/DTiNews have gathered over VND408,853,866 ($20,000) for the construction of another rural bridge.

DanTri will soon build a bridge for people in Phu Mua hamlet.

The bridge, to be built in Phu Mua hamlet, Jo Ngay commune, Dong Giang district, will be the third of its kind that DanTri has initiated.

The plan comes after a plea from local people to DanTri/DTiNews to assist them in building the bridge to facilitate local children to travel to school. At present, they have to swim or wade across the dangerous and fast currents of R’lang River to go to school every day.

The first DanTri bridge was built in Tay Yen commune, An Bien district in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang. The facility became operational on May 22, 2010 to facilitate locals to cross the river and specifically, to help children travel safely to school.

The second Dantri bridge crosses Po Ko River in Dak Ang commune, Ngoc Hoi district in the central highlands province of Kon Tum. It was put into use on November 15, 2010.

Dantri/DTiNews\' Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund is willing to receive supports from both local and foreign readers, agencies and oraganisations to help build a bridge in Phu Mua Village.
