Tran Thi Y has just moved to her new house which is built with financial support from Dtinews' readers.

Y has struggled with epilepsy since childhood and survives on unstable, odd jobs. In one incident while catching fish near her home, she suffered a seizure, fell, and sustained a brain injury requiring surgery. Lacking money for treatment, she had to leave hospital before recovering fully.

She lived with her elderly, ill parents and her 10-year-old daughter in a leaking, makeshift shelter.

After Dtinews published her story, readers donated nearly VND 300 million (approximately USD 11,800), enabling her to continue her treatment and build a new house.

At the handover, Y was moved to tears: “I never dared dream my family could live in such a decent home. I want to thank Dtinews and all the readers who have  given me hope for the future.”

Vi Viet Huong, deputy head of the Culture Office in Tien Luong Commune, said, “Y’s family has faced hardship for many years, and local resources were too limited to help. Thanks to Dtinews and the generosity of readers, her family now has a solid home, marking a complete transformation. This is not only joy for her family but happiness for the whole community.”
