A family in Nghe An Province is in need of help, a son who has lost an eye to retinal cancer, his father sick, and his grandfather suffering from cancer due to exposure to the dioxin, Agent Orange.

Nguyen Sy Hai Dang, born in 2010, is being treated at the National Hospital of Pediatrics in Hanoi. Ta Thi Hai, Dang's mother said.
Her husband's father was expose to the dioxin, Agent Orange, and was diagnosed with cancer. The family's financial situation worsened when Dang was diagnosed with cancer too.
"Last year, I noticed that there was a white spot in Dang's left eye so I brought him to hospital. Doctors in Hanoi said he has retinal cancer and they had to take out his eye," Hai said said.
She borrowed money for the surgery to remove the eye, but they cannot afford an artificial one for because of the additional burden of her husband's cancer treatments.
Dang lost an eye due to cancer
Dang's father, Nguyen Sy Hoa, was affected by the Agent Orange since birth and has weak health and cannot work. The family used its land to borrow from banks and have no assets left.
Hai said Dang needs at least three more surgeries and it is not certain his right eye can be saved.
"I can bear all the hardship, but Dang is so small. I can only wish he doesn't have to live in the dark for the rest of his life," Hai said.
