After the story of a six-year-old girl plagued by kidney problems was published on DTiNews, many readers have paid visits and made donations of over VND80 million (USD3,800).
Anh enjoys colouring books and pens given by readers
Lam Thi Phuong Anh is a underprivileged girl from HCM City’s slum area. She is paralysed and struggling with hydronephrosis level 3 that prevents her from controlling urination.
Many readers have come to visit Phuong Anh and give her little gifts such as colour books and pens. Anh appreciates the gifts and draws everyday.
"There is one really good person that took Anh to doctors. I'm so grateful because honestly I don't know where to take her for examination after all." Anh's mother said.
Anh was examined by Dr Le Tan Son, head of Urology Department at Children's Hospital 2, and was introduced to Binh Dan Hospital for urodynamic tests. They are now waiting for the results.
Anh's brother and mother receive donation
Anh's mother also said many readers have visited her family after reading the story and gave them a total of VND16 million. In addition, readers have donated VND78,820,000 via DanTri's Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund.
