Due to extreme financial hardship, the father was forced to seek sponsorship for a coffin in order to bury his daughter.
Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, where the girl was a student, has launched a public appeal for donations to help cover funeral expenses.
A teacher of Tan's daughter comes to send his condolences the family.
According to Dantri/Dtinews, Tan works as a construction worker, while Hang is a nursery teacher in the local area. Besides their late daughter, the couple have two younger daughters, aged 9 and 6, both suffering from chronic illnesses. The 9-year-old has epilepsy, and the 6-year-old suffers from heart and brain conditions and has a paralysed arm.
The couple’s modest income is barely sufficient to cover daily essentials and medication for their children. The family of five lives in a small rented room of just 15 square metres.
For a long time, Hang stayed at home to care for their children, making Tan the sole breadwinner. She recently secured a job at a local kindergarten, easing the financial strain slightly.
Hai, a neighbour of Tan’s family from Nghe An Province, shared that the late daughter was the healthiest and most academically gifted of the three children. “Outside school hours, she helped her parents by looking after her sisters, cooking meals, and picking them up in the afternoon,” Hai said.
Following the girl’s tragic death, Hai and several neighbours have stepped in to assist the grieving parents with the funeral arrangements.
