With donations from readers and some other agencies, Dantri and DTiNews have plans to build a bridge in the southern city of Can Tho, starting on April 8.

The new bridge will replace the old wooden one and facilitate trasportation in the underprivileged communes of Truong Xuan A and Truong Xuan B, located in the district of Thoi Lai. It will help ensure safety for the residents, especially during the flood season.
The structure will cost an estimated VND219,390,175 (USD10,497). Dantri and DTiNews readers contributions will account for VND100 million (USD4,784).
In the meantime, Vietnam Study Encouragement Fund will match that sum towards, and Binh An Seafood Joint Stock Company (Bianfishco) will donate VND20 million (USD956).
The bridge, which will be 31 metres long will be the third of its kind initiated by Dantri and DTiNews.
Other projects include the bridge in southern Kien Giang Province, as well as one in the central highlands, Kon Tum Province.
Dantri and DTiNews is still calling for donations to build Dantri 3 bridge in Phu Mua hamlet, Jo Ngay commune, Dong Giang district of central Quang Nam province. As of March 24, readers had contributed a combined VND492,221,366 (USD23,551) for the project.
