Dantri completes Tet gift drive for 1,960 vulnerable households

Dantri has completed its 2026 Lunar New Year (Tet) gift programme, delivering support to 1,960 disadvantaged households with a total budget of VND 1.63 billion, funded by reader donations.

The campaign, launched more than a month ago, was approved by the newspaper’s editor-in-chief and initially aimed to provide Tet gifts to 1,000 poor families affected by flooding in 2025 across northern, central and Central Highlands provinces.

Between January 27 and February 7, Dantri representatives delivered 1,000 Tet gift packages across 15 localities, including Cao Bang, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Danang, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa and Gia Lai.

Each package included VND 1 million in cash, along with a gift worth VND 100,000.

In addition, Dantri presented 100 Tet gifts worth VND 500,000 each to 100 particularly vulnerable households in the border commune of Yen Son in Son La Province, and organised a free medical check-up programme for more than 600 residents and children there.

The newspaper also gave 20 cash gifts of VND 1 million each to people who had made contributions to the revolution in Mau A Commune in Lao Cai Province.

Dantri said the programme received strong support from readers, organisations and businesses, as well as assistance from local authorities and community groups.

The newspaper expressed its gratitude to donors in Vietnam and abroad for helping the campaign reach families in need ahead of Tet.
