Nguyen Van Deo, from the bridge construction team, informed us that the other half of the bridge towards Rach Coc Hamlet is being completed now waiting only to put its handrail in place and the bridge to be coated with cement. The whole bridge will be painted once that is done. He assured us that Dan Tri Bridge will be completed and put into use within a week.
Dan Tri Bridge is being supported by 8 concrete columns. Its floor is coated with cement to create a flat surface and the handrails are made with zinc pipes. The bridge connects Rach Coc Hamlet and Kinh Xang together across Dai River in Tay Yen Commune.
Beo, a construction worker shared, "I'm very happy to have been a part of the bridge's construction team. The bridge, once it's completed, will help pupils to go to school safely and improve the daily life of the local people. The work is hard, but everyone is very enthusiastic about making this bridge a dream come true."
According to the Industry and Trade Division of An Bien District, the bridge has received a sponsor amount of VND 200 million (USD 10,400). This amount has since been transferred to the construction team to make sure that the bridge is completed in time and with the highest quality.
A source from An Bien District Industry and Trade Division said that on April 30, a group of people from Ho Chi Minh City came with a plan to build a bridge for the district after they read the story broken by DTiNews about a pupil who fell from the bridge and drowned. However, when informed that Dan Tri Bridge was being built, these compassionate people decided that they will build another bridge in Muong Quao Hamlet (Tay Yen Commune).
