Tran Linh Chi, only 11 years old, is intelligent, cute and suffering from bone cancer. She is living in Da Hoi Hamlet, Chau Khe Commune, Tu Son District, Bac Ninh Province.

“I lost all my hair. My arms cannot move. I cannot draw anymore either,” she shared.
Chi was admitted to the hospital for bone cancer treatment when she was in the fourth grade but her disease is not getting any better. Before Tet, a portion of her arm bone was cut off to help eliminate continuous pain.
After the operation, her left arm was left immobile. Doctors advised her to cut off the whole arm but she wanted to keep it. Her health became stable and she was discharged from the hospital.
On the fourth day of Tet, she was forced to return to the hospital because her arm became swollen and she had a high fever.
“My daughter is struggling against the tumor every day and night. She has lost a lot of weight. There is very little hair on her head. I could not sleep for many nights because of her dim future. She is too young,” cried Tran Thi Nghi.
Each treatment period of Linh Chi lasts from 15-20 days and costs several million dong. Linh Chi holds on to hope that her arm will some day move again.
Looking at her eyes, we can understand that the little girl knows about her fatal disease. “At the beginning, I had a lot of pain. My hair kept falling out so much that each time when I looked in a mirror, I started crying. But now I am used to it. There are many friends here who are faced with the same situation as me, so I try not to make my parents more worried,” said Linh Chi.
Linh Chi has two siblings. Her parents are metal-smith's and their small income cannot cover hospital fees. Chi’s family has to take care of 20% of treatment costs while the remainder is covered by insurance.
Chi’s family has watched her suffer helplessly. “When I see her paining, my heart becomes even more painful,” said Nghi.
