On the morning of March 5, a Dantri reporter, along with Chairman of the People's Committee of Viet Tien Commune, Nguyen Xuan Huong, assisted Truong Thi Lieu, 52, in the central province of Ha Tinh's Thach Ha District in completing procedures at Agribank to receive a donation of VND207,127,374 from generous readers.

In the summer of 2019, while working at a brick factory, she suffered a work accident that resulted in the loss of her right leg.
Two years later, in 2021, her husband, Dau Xuan Quang, 54, suffered a stroke and has since been in a vegetative state, completely reliant on family members for daily care, including eating and hygiene.
To continue looking after her husband, Lieu had to take out a loan to purchase a prosthetic leg. The couple exhausted their savings on medical expenses and, unable to work, have no source of income.

The family has been surviving thanks to the support of relatives, neighbours, charitable individuals, and local authorities. However, even their extended family members face financial difficulties and can only offer limited assistance.
Upon receiving the donation from Dantri readers on Wednesday, Lieu decided to deposit a portion into a savings account, while using the rest to buy medicine for her husband and cover her children's education expenses.

On behalf of the local government, Nguyen Xuan Huong also expressed his appreciation to Dantri and its readers for their kindness in supporting those in need within the community.
He hopes that Dantri will continue its commitment to social welfare efforts, helping disadvantaged individuals improve their lives.
