The vibrant Himalayan cherry blossoms, also known as sour cherry blossoms, are now in full bloom, painting the landscape of Mu Cang Chai District in the northwestern province of Yen Bai with their stunning hues.
The Himalayan cherry blossoms are in full bloom between mid-December and late January each year, which aligns with this year's Tet celebration.
The flowers bloom in abundance on the hills and mountains of Mu Cang Chai District, including the communes of Nam Khat, Pung Luong, De Xu Phinh, Lao Chai, La Pan Tan and Khao Pang.
Many visitors come to Mu Cang Chai at this time of year to experience the beauty of Himalayan cherry blossoms.
Giang A Chay, a local tour guide, shared that from December to January each year, tourists visiting Mu Cang Chai often choose to experience the beauty of buckwheat flowers and Himalayan cherry blossoms.
In recent years, Mu Cang Chai District has hosted the Himalayan Cherry Blossom Festival and performances of Mong horn music as well as the art of beeswax painting on fabric, during the New Year to attract and serve travellers.
