Nghia Do Park in Cau Giay District is undergoing repairs. Its lake has been drained for embankment work, revealing thousands of used incense bowls, altars, and waste accumulated at the bottom.

The waste is mainly found where stairs lead down to the water's edge.

The pollution has also resulted in the death of fish.

Construction materials are also discharged into the lake.

The park restoration focuses on upgrading the central square and children's playground, rebuilding collapsed embankment sections, and filling and levelling low-lying areas.

Despite warning signs and fencing for renovation work, many locals have slipped through barriers to exercise inside the park amid scattered construction materials.

Covering a total area of 42,000 square metres, this is one of the largest public parks in Hanoi, but it has suffered from severe deterioration for many years.
