The design of the air traffic control
The air traffic control centre is designed to have the shape of lotus flower. It is scheduled to be put into operation in 2025 when the first phase of Long Thanh International Airport was put into service.
The airport covers a total of 5,000 hectares and has a total investment capital of USD16 billion. The project is divided into three phases. The first phase slated between 2020 and 2025 focuses on building a runway and a terminal with a capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo per year.
Once fully operational, the airport will have four runways and four terminals that could serve up to 100 million passengers and five million tonnes of cargo annually.
