Pham Nhat Vuong has become the richest investor on the Vietnamese stock market during 2010, with a total publicly traded share value of VND15.21 trillion (US USD780 million).

After many years standing at the second position, Vuong has topped the list this year as his total share value grew to 34% against VND11.366 trillion (USD583 million) owned by Doan Nguyen Duc, Chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group (coded HAG).
Vuong is now a member of the board of directors of Vincom Joint Stock Company (coded VIC) and Vinpearl Joint Stock Company (coded VPL).
Even though HAG shares hit highest prices while VIC and VPL fall to their lowest prices in the remaining days of 2010, Duc’s share value cannot surpass Vuong’s.
The third position in the ranking belongs to Dang Thanh Tam with a total share value of VND4.042 trillion (USD202 million).
Notably, Vuong’s wife Pham Thu Huong, is also the richest businesswoman (6th person overall) on Vietnam’s 2010 stock market with a total share value of VND2.262 trillion (USD116 million).
Pham Nhat Vuong, who was born in 1968 in central Ha Tinh Province, is a geology economy engineer. In 1993, he was the founder of Technocom Ltd. Co. (then later called as Technocom Group) in Kharkov, Ukraine, focusing on instant noodle production.
In 2001, Vuong came back to Vietnam to set up Vincom and Vinpearl. In September, 2009, the main headquarters of Technocom Group were moved to Hanoi and changed into Vingroup.
