Waves pushed the floating vegetation and rubbish onto the beach and nearby waterfront park, while large clusters remained drifting close to shore.

In response, the Vung Tau Environment Services and Urban Works Joint Stock Company (VESCO) deployed workers and equipment to clear the affected areas.
Nguyen Xuan Hau, VESCO's deputy general director, said the company collected about 20 tonnes of water hyacinths and waste during the afternoon.
The annual phenomenon typically occurs at the start of the rainy season, particularly after heavy rainfall, when water hyacinths and debris are carried downstream and into coastal waters.
Local officials expect more water hyacinths and marine debris to wash ashore in the coming days, posing challenges for environmental management and beach maintenance during the summer tourism season.
