The project covers 1.92 hectares and has a total investment of VND78.257 billion (USD3.14 billion). It is expected to treat 36 tonnes a day by 2030 and 50 tonnes daily by 2040.
A dumping ground in Con Dao
The project with a lifetime of no more than 49 years would use international-standard technology.
According to the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Con Dao District sees a discharge of 11 tonnes of solid waste per day, surpassing its daily waste treatment capacity of just five tonnes. To date, up to 70,000 tonnes of waste in Con Dao accumulated over 20 years has not yet been treated.
