Nearly 10,000 people will join a walk to the statue of King Ly Thai To on June 13 to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
It was announced at a press briefing in Hanoi on June 9 that the participants including students, schoolchildren, athletes, coaches, and staff from numerous embassies and consulates in the country will walk along the main streets in Hoan Kiem lake.
A similar walk was also held in HCM City in mid-May and made a deep impression on the city's citizens.
The programme has been co-organised by the Vietnam Sports Newspaper and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and sponsored by the Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Sports Newspaper with Q-Mobile from the An Binh Telecommunications being the main sponsor for the event.
