VND2.5 billion raised for AO/Dioxin victims in Da Nang

More than VND2.5 billion was raised and 50 wheelchairs and 70 gifts were presented to AO/Dioxin victims.

A programme entitled “Joining hands for AO/Dioxin victims” was launched on June 3 by Danang City’s Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training plus Radio and Television stations in the city.

At the launch ceremony, more than VND2.5 billion was raised and 50 wheelchairs and 70 gifts were presented to AO/Dioxin victims. Many organisations and individuals also registered to regularly support 280 victims in Danang.

The Chairwoman of the Da Nang City Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims, Nguyen Thi Hien, said that the proceeds will be used to build houses and provide care for local victims.

Danang City has now more than 5,000 AO/Dioxin victims of which, 1,400 are children.
