The Vietnamese Student Association in Moscow held an opening ceremony for the Summer 2011 football tournament to celebrate the 36th anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30), May Day (May 1) and Uncle Ho’s birthday (May 19).
Trade Counselor Nguyen Chi Tam, embassy representatives, sponsors, Vietnamese students in Moscow attended the tournament at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Mr. Tam said the sporting event aims to promote healthy exercise among the overseas Vietnamese community and strengthen exchanges and solidarity between the OV community and Russian friends.
The tournament drew the participation of 19 teams representing over 40 universities where Vietnamese students study.
The 15th annual event will end on June 12.
