He ordered the bed, one of the 60 most expensive beds in the world, from the British Savoir Beds, in March.
The final cost for him to bring the bed home may be as high as VND6 billion (USD284,158) after transportation fees and import and valued added taxes.
“The bed is expected to arrive in Vietnam by the end of this month and will be on display at my resort, where visitors to Chi Linh tourism site, in Vung Tau City can view it free of charge,” Le An said.
The bed has the same design as those used by the British royal family between 1640 and 1740. The net is embroidered from over 2,500 kilometres of silk thread by craftsmen from Hermes.
The bed’s cushion is made from 30 kilos of hair from South American horse tails, covered by cashmere from Mongolia. All the accessories are hand-made.
Le An said that he has spent over VND400 million (USD18,943) on a project to raise the bar for Chi Linh tourism by the display.
