The Ministry of Home Affairs has agreed with a proposal by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to give employees seven days off for the coming Tet Festival from February 8-14, 2024.
The Ministry of Home Affairs will submit the proposal to the Prime Minister for approval.
Employees who work overtime or night shifts during the holiday will receive a minimum wage of 300 per cent, not including their regular daily wages.
Foreign workers in Vietnam, aside from the annual public holidays, will also have an additional day off for their own traditional New Year and their country's national day.
