The Vietnam national team has arrived in Phuket, Thailand to begin preparing for the 2014 Asian Beach Games (ABG) competition slated for November 18-23.
Amongst the 18 sports, Vietnam is a hopeful for medals in seven events, namely body building, throwing ball, sepak takraw, Thai Muay, Jujitsu, beach petanque, and kurash.
The torch relay has arrived at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) on its way to the Saphan Hin Sports Centre, where the AGB opening ceremony has been set to kick off on November 14.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also announced that Deputy Le Khanh Hai would be on hand to at the closing ceremony to accept the flag on behalf of Vietnam.
Previously, it had been announced the 2016 ABG would be held in the coastal city of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province.
