According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam’s domestic market maintained growth of around 9-10 per cent in 2025, with supply and demand for essential goods remaining stable and providing a key pillar for macroeconomic growth targets.
The ministry said e-commerce recorded strong expansion during the 2021-2025 period, with average annual growth of 23-25 per cent, emerging as one of the most important drivers of Vietnam’s digital economy.
“The rapid spread of livestream commerce, improvements in the legal framework and faster technology adoption by businesses show that e-commerce is entering a more stable and sustainable development phase, playing an increasingly important role in the national digital economy,” the ministry said.
E-commerce accounted for about two thirds of Vietnam’s total digital economy value in 2025, the ministry noted.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has set a target for the e-commerce market to reach around USD 37 billion, representing growth of about 20 per cent compared with 2025. The share of businesses applying e-commerce solutions is expected to rise to around 62 per cent.
To strengthen state management and accelerate digital transformation, the ministry has called on government agencies, local authorities and businesses to coordinate closely in implementing the E-commerce Law, ensuring it is quickly put into practice.
