The first qualifying round of the World 9-Ball Beijing Open tournament opened in Shoho commercial centre in China on April 25.

Vietnam’s team consists mainly of players from Hanoi and the north including Phuc Long, Chi Dung, Thanh Nam and Hoang Quan.
Except for Phuc Long, who ranks 16th in the world and has been allowed to automatically enter the final round, the other Vietnamese players have to compete in the qualifying round in Beijing on April 25, 26 and 27.
After 15 hours of competition, the first two players from Taiwan (China) won tickets to enter the final round, which will take place from April 28 to May 1.
The tournament is part of the World Pool-Billiard Association tournament system. 128 of the world’s leading players are participating in the contest for a total of nearly US$100,000 in prizes.
