Vietnam’s aviation sector is on track for robust growth in 2025
Data from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam shows that in the first 11 months of 2025, the sector handled more than 69 million passengers, up nearly 11 per cent from a year earlier. International travellers reached 38 million, a rise of 13 per cent, while domestic passengers totalled 31 million, up 7 per cent.
Cargo transport also performed strongly, with more than 1 million tonnes handled from January to November, an 18 per cent increase year on year.
The authority attributed the sector’s solid recovery to rising travel demand and stronger cooperation in international aviation operations, which have contributed significantly to the positive performance of Vietnam’s aviation market in 2025.
Looking ahead, the authority plans to assist airlines in optimising fleet deployment and expanding flight capacity to meet rising year-end travel demand and preparations for the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday. It will also coordinate airport slot allocations, work with foreign regulators to open new international routes, and enhance market research and forecasting to support future policy planning.
