The move followed a recent meeting of provincial authorities on the supervision of some major projects.

According to the Quang Nam People’s Committee, the project received approval for being carried out in March 2017. It is divided into three stages. The first and second ones were slated to be finished between the fourth quarter of 2017 and late 2020. Meanwhile, the third was scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021.
However, to date, the project investor, Nam Hoi An International JS Company, has not yet implemented site clearance. The investor has also not yet made a deposit as regulated. The project has been 36 months behind schedule.
An Thinh-PPC international tourism complex project covers 199 hectares in Thang Binh District.
The Quang Nam Department of Planning and Investment has been assigned to work with Thang Binh District agencies to revoke the project.
