Recent floods caused severe erosion along the Lam River in Do Luong Commune, exposing a large bomb about 2.2 metres long, including a 1.6-metre body, a 0.6-metre tail section, and a diameter of 30 centimetres.

The bomb found in Do Luong Commune
After discovering the bomb, residents reported it to the Do Luong Commune Military Command, which dispatched forces to the site, cordoned off the area, and awaited the arrival of specialised units to handle the disposal.
The command, in coordination with Hamlet 3 authorities, instructed nearby fishing households to move to safety.
The bomb is scheduled to be removed on October 15.
According to residents, the area was bombed by US aircraft in 1968.
