The drone was spotted around midday on August 11 over Le Dinh Duong Street in Hai Chau Ward, a central area of the city.
A patrol team identified the operator and asked them to report to its office for further checks.
The drone was temporarily seized and its operator ordered to stop the unauthorised flight. The device was later handed over for further handling in accordance with regulations.
Hai Chau Ward's military command said drone patrols and monitoring would continue to detect and deal with unauthorised flights.
Danang has stepped up drone monitoring, with patrols focusing on crowded public spaces, event venues, tourist attractions and areas where flights are prohibited or restricted. An observation station also operates around the clock.
The measures follow a series of drone incursions earlier this year.
According to Danang International Airport, six drone incidents were recorded around the airport between February 17 and 24, affecting 83 flights.
Following the incidents, the city called for tighter controls on drones operating in restricted airspace around the airport.
Police and military units have since conducted patrols and dealt with at least 10 cases involving unauthorised drone operations.
