The scene of the accident
According to local authorities, the accident occurred on Provincial Road 172 in Viet Hong Commune when a bus carrying around 26 passengers suddenly lost control and veered off the road. The impact caused severe damage to the front of the vehicle, with fuel spilling across the road surface.
“The crash killed two people at the scene, while several others were injured and taken to hospital for emergency treatment. Initial findings suggest the accident occurred after the bus’s brake system failed, causing it to overturn,” said Nguyen Tien Chien, Chairman of Hong Viet Commune People's Committee.
Upon receiving the report, the provincial traffic police dispatched officers to secure the area and coordinate rescue operations with other emergency teams.
Authorities conducted quick tests on the bus driver for alcohol and drug use, both of which returned negative results.
