The prolonged heavy rain on October 7 has caused flooding in many locations across Hanoi. To date, 13 areas, including the Resco Urban Area, the My Dinh-Thien Hien intersection, Trieu Khuc, and Duong Dinh Nghe streets, have remained inundated.

The Resco Urban Area on Pham Van Dong Street was submerged, with floodwaters rising to waist level in some areas, making it difficult for residents to move around.

Amid the situation, the urban area’s investors deployed trucks to help residents leave the flooded area, ensuring their safety and convenience while the water was still receding.

Residents and their belongings were loaded onto large trucks, which even had wooden steps to make getting on and off safer.

The rescue vehicles operate continuously from 6 am to 7.30 pm, running at full capacity to help residents travel through the flooded area and ensure no one is left stranded.

Huynh Phuong Thao, a resident, stated that the area has experienced repeated flooding since last year. Each time, rescue trucks from the military or the management board helped evacuate residents.

The elevated courtyards and walkways in the housing estate have now been converted into temporary parking areas for vehicles.

Flooding has disrupted daily life, severely affecting travel and business activities. Everyone is hoping the water will recede soon so life can return to normal.

At several heavily flooded spots, some residents used inflatable boats or small canoes to get through the water.

Workers from the Hanoi Drainage Company stayed on duty, actively clearing drains and inspecting the sewage system in hopes of helping the water recede more quickly.
