According to the National Traffic Safety Committee, the number of traffic accidents in Vietnam has increased. Between January and July, 14,242 accidents were reported, a 14.97 percent increase from the previous year's figure. The number of people injured in these accidents also saw a significant rise, reaching 10,976, a 32.95 percent increase from the previous year's number.

Most accidents occurred on roadways, with 14,125 cases, killing 6,126 and injuring 10,953.
The railway sector recorded 84 accidents, 60 deaths, and 18 injuries, up 23.53 percent, 15.38 percent, and 12.5 percent year over year, respectively.
In July alone, the country witnessed 1,889 traffic accidents, up 11.18 percent on-year. During the month, traffic accidents killed 860 people and injured 1,424 others, up 26.02 percent on-year.
