Tourists to Danang surge on national holiday

The central city of Danang received 254,000 tourists on the September 2 National Day holiday, up 6.3 percent on-year, and bringing a revenue of VND915 billion (USD38.93 million).

International visitors accounted for 78,900 of the figure, according to the Danang Department of Tourism.

Danang’s hotels had around a 50-55 percent occupancy rate with the highest number of tourists staying overnight on September 1-2.

Around 11,300 travellers came to Danang by water, up 38 percent on-year.

Sun World Ba Na Hills, Asia Park, MiKazuki Water Park and Ngu Hanh Son site were among the most popular tourist spots.

Danang International Airport served 492 flights during the holiday, up 66 against the same period of last year. The figure included 199 international flights.

Danang held many activities, including the Danang Golf Tournament and tours to explore Danang’s night markets such as Son Tra and An Thuong and paragliding on Son Tra Peninsula.
